Here's what the humans have to say about me:
IN Mooresville, NC
Aleister, which in Greek means "Humankind’s Defender", is ready to be your furever friend.
Born April 2022, I’m not only a handsome young boy but I’m smart too! I know how to sit and learned paw from my foster mom’s son. I am very food motivated and trainable. I am mostly potty trained - I’ve had a couple of accidents but that’s because I need to go out frequently to avoid these. I am a total gentleman on the leash and love other dogs. I sleep next to my foster brother and sisters and hang out with them so a home with at least one other dog is required. I have zero food aggression and my foster mom has opened my mouth and taken something out when I got something I shouldn’t eat like a pine cone. I have not been around cats so not sure how I would react to them.
Nobody’s perfect so what can I use some help with you ask? Well, I will go in the crate but am not a fan. Getting in the car is not my favorite but that’s because I don’t know all the great places we can go and that you won’t leave me. I think I’m a lap dog but I’m a big boy already so we are working on down. I prefer a home with kids over the age of 10 because I like to jump up and still need training to not do this without permission. I also like to steal all the petting so I have to learn to share patiently. A fenced yard of my own to romp and play in is preferred.
I am up to date on my vaccines, microchipped, on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. If chosen as a potential adopter, you will need to be able to meet me and my foster mom to be sure we are a good fit.
Here is the the adoption application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $50 neuter deposit that will be refunded upon proof of procedure. All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.
