My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bailey Jo is an adorable 2-year old Beagle mix who weighs about 33.5 pounds.  Her foster reports that she's one of the most snuggly dogs she's ever met!  She's young, but not overly energetic - just cute little spurts of energy.  One of her favorite activities is sunbathing while laying on her favorite bench.

New people can be a little intimidating for Bailey Jo, but if they are patient with her, she will open up.  Once she loves and trusts someone, she's super affectionate and sweet.  She will need a patient and kind owner to work with her on building her confidence.  And she might prefer a quieter home that doesn't have a ton of visitors.  Another dog may help her blossom too!  Bailey Jo does great with her canine foster sibling, but they don't interact much.  She also ignores the cat for the most part.

Bailey Jo tolerates her crate, but doesn't love it - she'd much rather snuggle with her person in bed.  She loves to burrow under the covers, but will choose to spoon with you if she gets too hot under there.  Bailey Jo is house-trained, but she won't ask to go outside - so her adopter will need to make sure to let her out on a regular basis.

She doesn't know any commands yet, but she is starting to come when called.  Every once in a while her foster family has success with "sit."  Bailey Jo walks well on the leash and she loves to use her hound nose to sniff out everything.

Bailey Jo's foster mama said that she's such a great dog and has a lot of love to give!  If you'd like to meet her, please apply to adopt!  Her minimum adoption fee is $275 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.

She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
