Flop is an affectionate girl who loves to be held or to snuggle up in your lap. She loves pets and will even give you kisses. Flop loves to curl up in small spaces. Flop is a special needs kitten but it doesn’t slow her down at all. She uses her litter box independently and eats well on her own with no assistance. She gets around differently then other cats but it doesn’t stop her at all from getting to where she wants to be. Flop will need a home with no access to stairs and will need a safe space/room for when you first bring her home. Flop should be adopted with her brother Flip as they love to play together.
Flip and Flop have a neurological condition called Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH). The cerebellum is smaller in CH cats. This causes difficulty with movement, most notably when walking. CH cats often shake before moving, this is called an intention tremor. It is usually seen prior to moving toward a goal, like food or a toy. CH cats are happy and not in pain. Flip and Flop are able to use the litter box and get to their food and water. It just takes then some extra time and a few “flops” in the journey. CH cats live as long as unaffected cats.
