Penny is 8 years old and weighs 60 lbs. She needs a new home because her current guardian is starting a new job which is a longer commute from her home which doesn't offer telework, which makes it difficult to keep Penny. Penny is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and was previously treated for heartworm infection. She knows basic commands sit, stay, down, leave it, out, and drop it.
NOTE: There was a lunging/attacking incident on 1 March 2022. The neighbor's dog ran off leash and started barking at Penny; she reacted by lunging at him and they almost got into a fight, but the dogs were separated in time.
Penny's current guardian says this about children: She's untested with young children, but thinks she'll be great around older children.
Penny's current guardian says this about dogs: She needs to be the only dog. She is nervous around other dogs.
Penny's current guardian says this about cats: She doesn't like cats, but she'll leave them alone if watched carefully.
Penny's current guardian describes her new ideal home: With a family when someone is always home. She is low maintenance but needs a fenced-in yard and lots of time around people.
