My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gus and Gideon are two senior sweethearts that want nothing more than to be near you for affection and cuddles. Gideon (black) is an absolute attention hog who gives lots of headbutts and will fall asleep every night on your chest. He is hyperthyroid and takes twice daily medication which is very easy to administer crushed up in a bit of food. He wants to be friends with everyone who he crosses and has no issue approaching new people for love and and pets. He is full of personality! Very occasionally if he is overstimulated he will nip to let you know he needs a break from pets, but will very quickly recover and be right back on your chest, or cuddled up next to you.

His brother Gus is a bit more shy at first, but warms up quickly and is supremely sweet. He loves taking naps under blankets, and will spend lots of time curled up next to you, blinking slowly and showing you his tummy. He also loves to headbutt and purrs like a motor! He is quite healthy, but is currently on a diet (he gained some weight in the shelter before he went to his foster home). All this means is he eats a bit less than his brother, who is a bit thin due to his hyperthyroid (so he gets more food than his brother).

The two of them are very calm, and would do best in a home that tends to be more relaxed. If you are in search of two calm lap cats, these are the two for you! Gus and Gideon were born September, 2011 and are looking for a home together.

If you live in Chicago and are interested in learning more about Gus and Gideon, please contact Toni McNaughton at tonimcn@rcn.com and Lisa Ward at catladychicago@yahoo.com. Please tell us a bit about your situation, what you are looking for, the composition of your current household (the other humans and/or pets who already live there). Inquires with these questions answered are responded to promptly.

We are always in need of foster homes. If you are not able to adopt, but are interested in fostering or know someone who might be, we would love to hear from you! Please contact Toni McNaughton at tonimcn@rcn.com or Lisa Ward at catladychicago@yahoo.com to learn more. Photos by Alina Taber.
