Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello- I am ENZO!
I am a 2.5 yr. old Australian Shepherd/Chowchow Mix and bring energetic 48lbs to the scale.
I am neutered, microchipped and up to date with vaccinations. At the time being I am cared for by ADR.org on Orcas Island, WA and live with the founder of ADR.org on a good-sized fenced property, together with other male and female dogs, as well as I met 2 cats.
ADR.org would like to see ENZO going into a home that:
- is not in an apartment complex or high rise but instead is a house with a fenced yard
- can offer to spend enough time with me daily to burn off playful energy, socialize me with stable new friends (Enzo’s preference would be an attractive girl of course but he also can be with male friends. It would be case by case);
- and pays attention to ENZO’s further social skillset and development. ENZO was often left alone in a fenced backyard.
- preferred has no cats
As Enzo behaves often very silly or silly, a home without boisterous younger children would be a preferred home.
Enzo did not learn enough in his puppyhood when it comes to interacting with other older or younger dogs- and most of the time is not particularly good in introducing himself to another dog. He still has so much puppy in him and often instead of approaching in a calm manner he is overexcited.
But who can blame him for that? He has so much affection to give. He will need YOU to balance times of energy burn off versus times of teaching him boundaries and make him feel familiar with new situations. Hence, novice dog owners might not be a viable choice.
Although Enzo values his independence, he is very affectionate and devoted to his family/his human. He is reserved with strangers but will accept them if properly introduced by his owner.
If you think, you might be able to offer a home like this, and would like to meet him, please email the founder of ADR.org at the following email address:
ADR@animaldefenserescue.org
The founder would like to speak with you first to get a better impression of your situation and get to know you better before sending an application.
ENZO is looking forward to receiving mail from you!
Woofly,
April 2023
