My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tux

Tux is a 75-pound, 6-year-old Labrador mixed with Great Pyrenees. True to his breeds, Tux is very affectionate and laid back. He is the epitome of a gentleman and has impeccable manners.

Tux’s best qualities are his gentleness and his affectionate nature. He lives with other dogs ranging from 5 pounds to 65 pounds, 2 cats and 5 horses. Tux loves all of them and has even been caught snuggling with his kitty sisters! He loves foster mom and dad equally and wants desperately to sleep with them, but alas, his Chihuahua sisters will not allow it! He is not protective, but he is fiercely loyal to his people.

Tux enjoys his evenings lounging on his dog bed while foster dogmom and dogdad cook dinner and watch TV. If you are looking for a companion with whom to share quiet days, take a walk, and cuddle, you can’t do better than Tux.

Tux will not jump on anyone ever. He will also not jump up on the furniture. He is not barky. He will not argue with other dogs, and he takes treats nicely from your hand. He is house-trained. He is totally non-destructive and does not need to be kenneled; you can safely give him run-of-house when you leave.

Tux does occasionally play with toys, chasing one here and chewing one there from time to time. But he’s mostly a laid back dude, causing no trouble, starting no drama, enjoying the small things in life, like following foster dogmom out to the barn to do horse chores (Tux is very helpful) and roaming the yard for new scents with his doggie brother.

Tux would do equally well in a house or an apartment. He has plenty of space to roam on his fosters’ farm, but he prefers to be inside near his people. Because Tux is so laid back and comes from scary beginnings, he needs a quiet home with no small children. Teenagers are fine.

If you are looking for a low-maintenance dog with whom to share quiet days, walks, and cuddles, you can’t do better than Tux.

Tux’s adoption fee is $175 and includes neuter, all shots & microchip.

Note:
We always respond first to inquiries that tell us something about your living situation (house, apartment, single, family, etc.) and why you want this dog. Be sure to include your phone number in your inquiry. We call inquiries that seem to be a good fit for the dog.
