My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! My name is Dozer and I am 9 years old and a big boy at 75lbs. I am a very affectionate dog and I love hugs, children, and every person that I meet. I get along well with my 2 foster siblings, bunnies, and chickens. Although I get along well with other animals, I don’t care to play with other dogs and would much rather hang out with humans. When postal workers or delivery drivers come to the porch, I bark to let my foster parents know that they have a delivery. I love curling up on the couch and on the laps of humans. My foster parents say that sometimes, I don’t realize how big I am when I curl up on their laps but that does not stop my foster parents from letting me curl up on their laps because I am a very good boy. I do not like lightning and thunder and may pace or try to be next to humans in order to feel better. I do not mind regular rain showers and will sleep through them just fine. I do not like my kennel and will try to get out of it but I do very well in a room with a door shut or a pet gate in the doorway. Normally, I lay on the couch with my 2 foster siblings and have free reign of the house when my foster parents are not home because I am a very good boy. I love the outdoors, walks, car rides, and helping my foster parents around the house with their chores. When I got to my foster home, I had a lot of bald spots and some dry skin. Now, I only have a few bald spots that my foster mom calls “alopecia” but my foster mom tells me that it is just a cosmetic issue and not a health issue. Everyone who has met me just loves me and my foster parents tell me that whoever adopts me will be so lucky.

More about this rescue

IEBR was formed in 2009 to find homes for purebred English Bulldogs. IEBR rescues dogs from shelters and puppymills and accepts dogs from owners who for any reason can no longer provide a home for their bully.

The bulldogs that come through our rescue program are seldom in “perfect” condition in terms of health, temperament or both; however with a little love, medical attention and time, rescued English Bulldogs dogs make great companions.

IEBR does not find dogs for people – our mission is to find great people for wonderful dogs.
