Chester is a striking GSD mix, about 3 years old and 60 lbs.
Chester is extremely smart and high energy. We are looking for a home for him who has experience with the breed, and know they need both physical and mental stimulation to help balance out their energy.
You must have at least a 6’ high physically fenced yard. No kids under 12 due to his energy level is preferred. He is currently in an indoor / outdoor run. He is current on vaccines, preventions and has been neutered and hw negative.
He is a sweet dog who needs some training and guidance. It is clear that no one spent much time with him when he was a pup, but he is a great dog and deserves a chance to be the best pup he can be !! Looking for that special family that sees his potential and is willing to put in the work to help him be the amazing dog he is.

First step in our process is to submit an application through our website. They are reviewed and we contact those who could be a good match

Interview
Phone interview to get more information about you, your family and tell you more about the pup(s) you are interested in.

Approve Application
Once we approve an application, we set the status of the pup to "Adoption Pending" and schedule a home visit and meet and greet.

Home Check
We arrange a meet and greet and home visit if within distance. If all goes well we will finalize adoption at the end of this meeting.

Our adoption process starts with submitting an Adoption Application which can be found on our website at www.safehaventn.com. From there you will be contacted by one of our Adoption Coordinators. Our adoption donations are usually $150 for adult dogs and $200 - $300 for puppies - depending on the animal, breed, etc. We expect that our pets will live indoors, and will be adopted to families who have the desire to add another family member to their home. A vet reference is required.
