My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

CAN YOU GIVE THIS DEAF DOG THE FOREVER HOME HE DESERVES!

Echo is a 30 lb hound/ Jack Russell terrier mix.  He is almost 2 years old and was born deaf.  Echo is a sweet dog with a fun personality who loves to be with people.

Being deaf, Echo can be timid and sensitive to new situations, other animals, and lots of movement.  He does not respond well to being touched without care and sensitivity.  Echo would do best in a house with only adults who can read his body language and also continue his hand signal training.

Echo is crate trained,  he handles being in his crate very well.  At night he sleeps in his crate from 10:30pm to about 6:30am.  Echo is housetrained and will bark when he needs to go out.

As with all young dogs, Echo has a lot of energy.  We have a fenced yard and he loves to run around in it.  A fenced yard would be great to have so he can have some freedom and get his roomies out.  Echo also loves to go on walks and walks well on his leash. He can be distracted by cars and other dogs, so we choose quieter routes for our walks.

He can be easily surprised, which leads to anxiety and sometimes unpredictable behavior.  He will not do well with children and will do best in a quiet, laid back environment with only adults. Echo enjoys chew toys but had a tendency to resource guard them. So being an only pet is important.

Echo is looking for a forever family who is patient,  kind and will work with him to be the best pup he can be.  In return he will be your forever companion!
