Needs a home with a yard: Would be best until they get used to being left alone, gain confidence and can self-sooth.
Needs a home with another dog: they just need each other
Can live in an apartment: this would be a concern as they howl and whine when left alone at first. So until they have the separation anxiety worked through it will not be a healthy situation.
Backstory: Both pups grew up in a loving home for 4 years. They were adopted as littermates. Their family had to move and pets were not allowed. They rehomed and the dogs were dumped. These dogs were then trapped and have been with a foster who loves them and is enjoying caring for them but cannot keep due to having too many dogs. The foster has 2 cats and 3 dogs and they are settling in.
They are not unfriendly but are not interested in any of the other dogs and are very loving and really only care about being with their people! The best home would be for them to be on their own and being the center of their new families attention! They are very loving and very very good little boys! They learn quickly and understand the word “No”.
They do not need extreme exercise and if they start panting can be held. Please monitor then when walking in the heat. But they would do well with a short walk each day. Please do not allow them to over eat as this breed is healthiest when not overweight and putting stress on their joints.
RESPONSIBLE Pet Owner required : They are suffering from a bit of separation anxiety and will whine and howl if left alone until they settle. It would be best if an owner engaged in some behavioural training to learn how to help them. The new owner will need to learn how to help the dogs improve with regard to separation anxiety which is not extreme as there has been no destruction but creates some noise for a period of time.
