Greetings lovely people, Mittens here. I’m a strikingly beautiful, declawed grey girl with innocent eyes that are alert to everything happening around me. Born in 2016. I came to MaxFund in February 2022 because my owner could no longer care for me. I’d been with them all my life. Losing the only home I’ve ever known broke my heart. One important thing to know is that I am diabetic which means I require a special diet and daily insulin. So, I require just a little extra care but I promise it`s not at all difficult -- the medical staff at MaxFund will walk you through everything.
Mittens is currently in foster but is still desperately looking for her forever home. Here`s what her fosters have to say about her:
`Meet Mittens, a charming feline with a sweet tooth for life and a heart full of love. After spending two years at the shelter, she has found temporary comfort in a foster home and feels she is at her best and ready to commit to her forever home. Despite her occasional sassy hiss, this big-eyed sweetheart is a food-motivated cuddle bug who’s looking for a special human to share her life with. Don’t let her hiss fool you; it’s just her way of saying she’s got boundaries like any lady should. Once you’ve earned her trust, she’ll be your loyal companion, offering purrs and affection on her terms.
Mittens is special in more ways than one; she’s managing her diabetes like a champ! With a consistent diet and some tender loving care, she keeps her spirits high and her glucose levels steady. Mitten`s/Roomba’s ideal home is a quiet, stable environment with a guardian/s who understand the needs of a diabetic cat. She thrives on routine and would do best in a home without small children or other pets that might disrupt her peace.
If you’re looking for a cat with character and you’re ready to provide the special care she needs, Mittens might just be your girl. Come meet her and let those big, beautiful eyes win you over!`
`Mittens is a big-eyed, food-motivated sweetheart who`s looking for a special human to share her life with. She’s got a big personality and a lot to say. She’s become queen of her new foster home in no time flat and wasn’t shy about settling in, greeting visitors to the house with aplomb. Mittens loves to be near her humans and hang around the kitchen, where she might grab a nibble. After a breakfast-time lap cuddle with her foster dad, she loves to relax during the day in a cozy spot, and then lets you k

More about this shelter
The MaxFund is a non-profit organization that was established in May of 1988 to provide medical care for injured pets with no known owners, and to seek out new homes for these animals once they have recovered. The MaxFund is a no-kill dog and cat shelter. MaxFund assists hundreds of people and animals each year by trying to make the correct match between owner and pet. MaxFund adopts our animals to Colorado residents only.
The MaxFund is a TRUE no-kill shelter. There is no pre-sorting of animals into "adoptable" and "non-adoptable" categories, discarding the so-called "unadoptable." The MaxFund takes every animal it has the space for. EVERY animal is kept until its owner is found or it is placed in a new adoptive home.
