My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Josie's adoption fee is now sponsored. Josie spent the first year of her life tied outside through the heat and cold with nothing but a crate for shelter. Despite that life she absolutely loves affection. She wants to be snuggled right up next to her humans at any chance she gets. She’s a perfect lap dog and just chills quietly next to you. Because everything is brand new to her she is still learning to gain confidence. With proper introductions she warms up to everyone. It appears that another dog/dogs were mean to her in the past because she does exhibit some fear aggression . She does need to be the only dog in the home. She hasn’t been cat tested however she has exhibited no prey drive. When she goes outside she really just wants to do her business and get directly back to her human. She is very food driven so very easy to train. She will play with toys but doesn’t get possessive with them. She mostly likes toys when there is a human on the other end playing. Josie has attended training for socialization and basic training and done well.

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
