Here's what the humans have to say about me:
1 year old Funfetti says: "I’m a little saucy and I like to talk to you. I love getting head pets and rolling around on blankets. I prefer to love you on my own terms but I am a great cat. Roaming around the lobby is my favorite time of day. I want to be a one-cat show in my new furever home because I am the center of my world." She likes watching birds, sunny windows, talking and soft blankets. She dislikes squirrels. "They think they own the shelter yard!" - Funfetti
SOS Summer of Saving Special - Hot times call for hot measures! We're at max capacity, so we're offering free adoptions for medium-to-large adult dogs & adult cats. We have some amazing dogs and cats that will sell themselves if you give them a chance. All they want is love and a cool place to lay their heads.
If you are interested in adopting from the City of Georgetown Animal Shelter, please fill out this form at https://records.georgetown.org/Forms/AdoptApp for an appointment. Once we receive the adoption agreement we will contact you to schedule an appointment to meet available dogs and cats. Please contact the shelter with any additional questions.
The application/screening process for potential adopters usually takes about 24 hours except when it falls over a weekend or holiday, and then it may take two or three days. We ask that potential adopters please be patient with us; we are only trying our best to ensure that the homeless pets in our care get the best possible home. All cats and dogs adopted from our shelter are spayed or neutered (as Texas law mandates).
Our adoption fee is currently $70 for non-residents and $75 for residents*.
The adoption fee includes:
spaying/neutering
vaccinations (appropriate to species and age)
heartworm or feline leukemia test (appropriate to species and age)
de-worming medication
microchip (a tiny ID tag inserted under the skin, which allows your pet to be returned to you quickly)
There is a $5 Pet License fee added to the adoption fee if the adopter lives inside the City Limits of Georgetown.
Please visit our website for more information on how to adopt, special events, adoption application, educational and volunteer information.
