My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sally is looking for a patient and loving home, ideally with another doggie friend.

She can be wary around new people at first, but with some confidence and treats you are sure to win her over. She’s looking for a home where someone is willing to be her advocate and help her learn the world is not a scary place.

Sally loves her people hard! She loves to play, snuggle, and go on walks to explore. She is very dog friendly and would do well in a home with another confident dog.

She may do fine with kids if they respect her boundaries, but we think the ideal home would be adults only.

Sally is house trained and crate trained.

Does Sally sound like your girl? Fill out an app today to learn more and meet this sweetie!

Sally needs a foster home too. If you would like to foster this beautiful dog, please go to the Animal Justice League Website and read the requirements. If she is a good fit for you, please complete an application to foster. AJL covers all food and supplies and any vet appointments needed. https://www.animaljusticeleague.org/pets/foster/all

More about this rescue

Animal Justice League (AJL) is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt dog and cat rescue organization with a focus on the Oak Forest and Garden Oaks neighborhoods of Houston, TX. AJL was formed on January 27, 2015, but really, the work began long before then!

In a neighborhood that often serves as a dumping ground for unwanted animals, in a city that is overridden with homeless pets, and shelters that are at capacity, we saw a need and knew it was time to make a difference.

We rescue dogs off of the brutal streets of Houston, help care for those that are no longer wanted or cared for by their previous owners, and are registered to pull dogs and cats from the city, county, and nearby shelters. We also help reduce the community cat and kitten population through a robust TNR (trap, neuter, return) program.

Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through rescue, education, and outreach. Help us make our mission a reality!
