Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Journee! Journee is a 1-year-old Aussie, around 38 lbs. She is up to date on vaccines, spayed, microchipped and on preventatives.
Journee says: I enjoy playing with other male dogs (have not been around female dogs), but I can be a little scared of people. I am getting better every day and enjoy being petted. I love being outside and sometimes don’t understand when I am not allowed to stay out ALL day. I need a large fenced in yard so I can enjoy the outside as much as possible, I like to find a cool shaded spot to hang out in.
I need someone who can work with me on confidence building and be patient with me. Sometimes I have what is called submissive urination (I am currently taking Proin and it seems to be helping some). I don’t mean to, I'm just nervous and don’t know how else to show it.
I need a home with no kids under 12 as too much screaming, yelling and excitement can be scary, plus I sometimes need my own space. I need a person with lots of patience and lots of love. I do pick my person but am okay with the rest of the humans in the house as long as they are willing to pet me or give me treats.
I love treats and am a fast learner, already know, sit, down, shake, beg, sit and wait for ‘okay eat’ when food is served, and be cute, which is also know as "please scratch me". I am however not your "going for rides in the car dog", as the car is terrifying. But I’m not scared of storms or fireworks, so that makes up for the terrible car.
Journee would love a human who can be home with her most of the time, take her for walks, spend time outdoors with her, understand her fears and help her get over them, scratch her and know the best way to her heart is yummy treats and a good meal. She is very attentive and looks to you for commands, I think in the right home where someone can train her, she could really thrive.
Journee does not like hugs or people in her face but loves scratches and food. She would love to find her perfect family and does require a meet and greet before she can pick her family.
If you think you could be the right home for Journee, please fill out an application. Journee is being fostered in Woodstock, Ga.
