My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Halo is a gorgeous Border Collie mix that is looking for her forever home. She’s a very smart and eager to learn gal that is ready to explore the world. She is learning to dog and doing such a great job at it with the help of her other furry foster brothers. A few things she is still learning are how to walk on a leash as she has never had before. Even though her previous owner failed her by allowing her to end up in danger at a rural pound, we are here to show her that she is now safe and in the best hands. After everything she has been through, she still has so much love to give. Her favorite way to show you how much she cares is by showering you with as many kisses as she can. Halo would thrive best in a home with a fenced in yard with another dog to play with as she loves the company. When meeting new people she can be submissive. She is so excited to meet new pups and will roll on the ground wagging her tail in every direction. Halo is also the type of gal that wants to be by your side. She would love to go on long walks and would make an excellent running partner. She can be quite the picky girl when it comes to treats as she doesn’t seem to like milk bones or even Greenies. After some taste testing we have come to find out her favorite treats are Pupperonis. She is doing great with her kennel training. When the kennel is open she will even go in there by herself when she wants her own space. She even sleeps through the night without any messes in her kennel. However she is still potty training. One of her favorite things to do is binge watch tv. Especially if it's a show that has other dogs in it. She finds it very fascinating. Halo will do best in a home with kids over the age of 6 due to her being a herding breed mix. She is also still learning not to jump on people but when redirected listens very well. We wouldn’t want her knocking over any little ones. She just gets so excited! Like any of our dogs, this gal would make a great addition to an active home that will provide the love, structure, good leadership, activity and mental stimulation that this breed needs. Because of that, Halo’s ideal owner will need to understand that even if you exercise and play with her, you must still take her out on daily walks and outings, in order to provide sufficient stimulation, ward off boredom, and work on leash skills as well as manners. If you think Halo could be a great match for you and your family, hurry and put an application in! She can’t wait to meet you.
