My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Myrtle is available for adoption!  This tiny little chihuahua is about 7 years old and only 5 pounds!  Myrtle came to us with her "brother" Frank after their family determined they do not like young kids - which is not a surprise for tiny dogs.  But now she has the chance to start over!  We would love for Myrtle and Frank to be adopted together but it is not required.

Myrtle is a typical little chihuahua - she loves to be near her foster mom and is a total lap dog!  Her favorite time of the day is bedtime - she is quick to find her spot near her foster mom and will snuggle all night long.  She will also cuddle with the other small dogs in her foster home.  She prefers the other chihuahuas over the rambunctious puppies/dogs in her foster home.  Her days of playing are over and she is all about love and affection now.  Myrtle does need a day or two to warm up to new people - it doesn't take long at all.  And once she knows you, she loves you and will always try to keep an eye on you (just in case you decide to take a nap!)  She has been around cats and has shown little interest.  No kids under the age of 13 though - she has snapped at young children in her former home. We would prefer that she go to an adult-only home.   Myrtle walks nicely on a leash.  She appears to be housetrained too but she is a chihuahua and if you know chihuahuas, it's never 100% (especially in the rain or snow!) so please expect some accidents.  She is crate trained too and loves to sit inside with the door open.   She loves little round beds with blankets to stay warm under.  Myrtle is a loving little chihuahua and if you love tiny dogs, you will love this one!

Myrtle is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  Her adoption fee is $400
