Are you my new best friend? My name is Joey! I'm a lovable three-month-old Labrador Retriever and I weigh about 32 pounds. I don't want to brag about myself, so I'll just let you read what my foster mom has to say about me:
"Joey is a sweet boy. He LOVES to run and play, but also loves one-on-one attention and will happily sit down for snuggles. He's doing great with potty training and rarely has an accident. Joey does well in his crate but has recently graduated to sleeping in bed with his foster parents and canine foster brother, and that's working great.
Joey came to Wishbone from a hoarding situation and was a bit timid, but he's made great progress with car rides, leash training, and manners (he knows to go to his crate when asked, knows 'sit', and is working on 'shake'). He still needs a little practice and is a happy learner who's treat motivated! A fenced yard would be ideal for Joey, but it's not required as long as his adopter is willing to continue to work with him on leash training so he can get more comfortable on walks.
Joey's also learning that he can trust people, and it shows: he does great with kids and other dogs, though he occasionally gets excited and jumps (he's working on that, too). He'll make the perfect addition to a very lucky family, especially one with other dogs!"
His minimum adoption fee is $325 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.
He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
To be considered for adoption, you must first submit the application found at:
