My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Nala!

*Nala's adoption fee is being sponsored by an anonymous donor. The adoption fee for the bonded pair will be $225.*

*Nala and Polkas are a bonded pair and will be adopted together.*

Hi there, I'm Nala. I'm a shy old lady, at 12 years old. I'm just 9 whole pounds, and prefer to build a connection with people rather than trusting them right off the bat. I was surrendered due to no fault of my own, and though I would love to find a home with my baby Polkas, we are bonded and we would do fine with any dog, especially if they are confident and we can learn from them that my new humans are okay! I don't have to live with another dog though, well, except Polkas, of course. I am potty pad trained, but I probably could be house trained, once I'm fully comfortable. I sleep in my crate while my foster mom is away and at night, and never make a mess. I also don't mind the cats here in my foster home. Because I'm of my shy nature, I shouldn't live with children.

Once you gain my trust, with your love, patience, and treats I'd be happy to be the best lap warmer you have ever had! Your patience will be rewarded, I promise. My favorite past times are basking in the sun, chewing on all the kongs, hides, or greenies I can get my little teeth on. If you are a patient person, with lots of love, and time, and are looking for a couple of special girls then we are the pair for you!

Disclaimer: It is VERY difficult even for a veterinarian to tell the exact age of a dog over two years old. From one vet to another, we can get different age estimates on the same dog and they can vary by several years. We are only making an educated guess based on a few factors like teeth, fur color, and overall body condition, but for dogs who have not been given adequate vet care and food, it can be even more difficult. Every dog is an individual, and we do our very best to age appropriately but make no guarantees as to the age of any dog in our program.
