My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Frankie!

Hey there, my name is Frankie! I was found on the side of a busy county highway in central Wisconsin when some ladies picked me up and took me to my foster mom's house. She looked for my people, and so did the shelter, but no one came to get me. When I was found my fur was a hot mess, but the very next day my foster mom took me to the vet so they could do a sedated groom and get things under control. When she came to pick me up I came bouncing out of the office because I felt soooooo much better. I am living with dogs of all sizes as well as cats and have not had any issues with anyone. I don’t mind kids, and especially love the little ones! I am potty trained! After only a few minutes of being here I figured out the dog door all on my own, I'm smart like that. I'm about 12 years old and I weigh 15 pounds. I would not do well in an apartment as I do bark for my food, and noises would make me bark, and I don’t want to annoy anyone. I recently got all my teeth taken out because they were so yucky inside my mouth, so softer food might be best for me. I'm a happy guy that can go on walks or just hang out and chill with you. I can do stairs and I love sleeping on the couch in the sun. I also ride nice in the car. Are you looking for a sweet dude who just loves being with his humans? If so, I'm the guy for you!

*Frankie is being fostered in the Wausau area.

Disclaimer: It is VERY difficult even for a veterinarian to tell the exact age of a dog over two years old. From one vet to another, we can get different age estimates on the same dog and they can vary by several years. We are only making an educated guess based on a few factors like teeth, fur color, and overall body condition, but for dogs who have not been given adequate vet care and food, it can be even more difficult. Every dog is an individual, and we do our very best to age appropriately but make no guarantees as to the age of any dog in our program.
