Here's what the humans have to say about me:
FOSTERED IN: Adoption Center - Frankfort, IL 60423
ESTIMATED DOB: 2014
COLOR/BREED: Brown Tabby Shorthair
KIDS: No
DOGS: No
CATS: No
HISTORY:
CC was an outside cat who was found pregnant. We had her in foster care, but she didn’t want any part of being a mom, so the kittens were transferred to a rescue who had bottle feeders. We also realized that CC didn’t love other animals, and would pick only certain humans to befriend, so she became our resident mouser in the back room of our cat adoption center. She even had an outside catio built on to her room. CC had an eye that was injured before we rescued her, and it wasn’t giving her any issues initially. But a while later when she went in for a recheck, we found out that the pressure was starting to increase, so we decided to remove the eye and biopsy to make sure nothing else was going on. Luckily, the biopsy came back clear, and CC has made such amazing progress in her socialization that she is now ready for a family to call her own!
ABOUT:
CC is a confident, independent girl who loves to relax on her cat towers or in her catio. We would love to see her in a home that has a safe, secure outdoor space like an enclosed porch or a catio, but if that’s not possible, at least lots of windows that she can do some bird watching and soak up the sun.
CC has a wonderful affectionate and friendly side, and will often greet visitors right when they enter, but she is particular about who she allows to pet her (and how she is pet). If you're one of her “people”, she absolutely loves being showered with gentle affection (the key word here is gentle - she loves to be stroked softly while she lounges around). She might even softly grab your hand with her paws and start licking you. However, if she’s pet too roughly or “in the wrong spot”, she gets a bit frisky and might take a swipe at you to tell you to stop. She also does not tolerate being picked up. For this reason, CC needs to be in an adult-only home with experienced cat owners.
CC is a great companion because she likes to hang out where you are, though she won’t smother you with attention. She’s fairly calm, but can get into a silly mood when climbing her cat tree or playing with toys. We’re hoping to match her with a quiet, laid back adopter(s) who will appreciate CC’s charm and casual attitude and give her the attention she desires while respecting her boundaries.
CC also has a bit of a sensitive stomach, so is on a dry food only diet.
