My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gisela is a wee 7Lb cutie, close to 6 months old, and with the most fabulous ears! She can be nervous in new situations and around new people, but give her time to warm up  and she is the sweetest little girl you can imagine. She’s good with the adults, dog savvy kids, and other dogs in her foster home. In fact she LOVES playing with and following around one of the medium sized dogs in her foster home. She’s given no reason to believe she wouldn’t be safe with cats.

Some of her favorite pastimes include snuggling in bed, receiving belly rubs, and laying out in the sun. She does well in the car. She is not leash trained but with a little work should get the hang of it fairly quickly. She is a smart cookie. She easily picked up letting herself out a dog door to do her business outside.

It will be a lucky family who finds themselves the right match up for this adorable baby. Her family should be prepared to commit to training and socialization time with her. Given her age and basic training needs she cannot be placed in a home where she will regularly be left alone for long periods of time. Preference will be given for a home with another medium to smaller sized dog already in it who wouldn’t mind being Gisela’s mentor. Kids are perfectly fine so long as they are small dog savvy. At least a small secure outside area where she can sun bath would be ideal.

Gisela is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and received flea and de-worming treatments. She is being fostered in SW Portland. Her adoption fee is $450.

You must be able to meet an available dog at the foster’s location. Dogs are not held for potential adopters or shipped outside of the area. Home checks are part of the adoption and will be conducted virtually.
