My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sundae is a 10 year old brown and white hound/shepherd? mix. She weighs about 40 lbs.  She knows SIT, LOOK, COME,  and will give you her paw for a treat.  She wants to please her family and learns the routine quickly.  Car rides are a definite one of her Likes! She gets along with other dogs and all people.  She is a very sweet and loving girl. She loves to chase a tennis ball and will bring it back some of the time. Since she is a senior girl, she doesn't need a lot of chasing the ball but a few throws make her very happy.  You can hear that "hound" voice when she's excited to see you. All 4 of her feet are white so she looks like she's wearing boots!

Sundae loves her people and wants to spend time with them and go where ever they go !   She is crate trained and house trained.   She's very well behaved in the house and quiet.  She would like a dog bed in each room of the house that you spend time in so that she can relax and nap with you close by.

Sundae was adopted and is back with us now.   The previous adopters had 2 cats.   The younger cat and Sundae were fine together but the older cat was not accepting of a dog in the house.   The older cat provoked Sundae into a fight.  There was also a young child in the household that Sundae did great with.   Understandably, the parents were concerned for the safety of their senior cat as well as their own child if he were to get caught in the middle of a fracas between Sundae and the senior feline.

Sundae’s bloodwork shows she has early kidney disease.  The vet recommended a prescription  food for Kidney health and Sundae has been on this for several months.   When she came back to us, we had bloodwork done on her and her kidney values have improved after being on the special food !   Hopefully that will continue with the right diet.

Sundae was having some pain in her rear legs.  An x-ray at the vet showed that she has lumbosacral disease with spondylosis.  This is typical with senior dogs.  She may have irritated this condition causing her pain.  She is responding well to pain meds.

She would be happy in a home with other dogs or being the only dog. Sundae is up to date on all vaccines, heartworm preventative, and flea preventative. She is spayed and microchipped.

Sundae's adoption fee is $200.
