My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I’m Alfredo and I was found as a stray in terrible condition. Honestly, I didn’t know how much longer I was going to make it outside. I’m so thankful EARS took me in! When I was found I was a matted mess. I had to get shaved down. All my teeth were rotten and my mouth hurt really bad. I am now toothless but doing great! Having no teeth doesn’t slow me down, I just eat wet food. Plus, it gives me such a cute look as I often have my tongue out! As you can see from my pictures, I HAVE to be groomed on a regular basis and should be brushed daily or very often. I’m what they call a Velcro dog. I love people and love being with them. I love cuddling, sitting in your lap, car rides, going to the mall and more! I’m super happy and content. I’m a very easy-going dog! I weigh 5lbs. and am approximately 10 years old. They think I am a Poodle/Chihuahua mix. I currently share a house with 2 other big older dogs and get along great with them because they are calm. I am still working on mastering potty training as I was either a puppy mill dog or a breeder stud dog and was probably in a crate my whole life. I’m getting better every day, but I wear a belly band, just in case, which is super easy! I am looking for a loving home where I can give you all the snuggles and love.

We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.
