Before OMD: Hondo and his sister, Angel (also available for adoption!), made their way to us via a Southern rescue partner. Doppelganger: A little go-kart. He is so quick but will literally run-in circles and parkour off surfaces. The way his little but scoots underneath him when he drifts while he runs is especially amazing.
Energy Level: High. He's a baby Hound dog, after all.
Apartment friendly: No...he's a Hound dog, after all. 😉 He's got things to say.
Descriptors: Silly. Fun. Adventurous. Affectionate. Curious. Summer or Winter Olympics: Summer. He's going for gold in all the water sports.
What we love most: When he snuggles up and puts his face as close to yours as humanly possible. The fact he will sit and smile at you for everything....if he is sitting and waiting for treats, he will tilt his head up and smile while wagging his tail at you. He also makes this adorable comfortable squeal when he is stretching or trying to get your attention, but is too lazy to get up. What makes us laugh: How he will lay down and roll over when you try to put on his harness and will go limp if you try to pick him back up. How he'll get excited sometimes when you ask him to sit and will jump backwards while wiggling his butt with so much energy for about 10 seconds before finally finding his way into a sit position.
What he loves most: Dog friends. Belly rubs. Being held like the awkward baby he is. Bones. Walks.
But does he love food?...: Does he ever! Food is life for Hondo. Working on: Jumping (for food). Counter-surfing (for food). Pulling (because...squirrel!).
Kids: Has been great with kiddos!
Dogs: Yes please! Loves to be with other dogs
Cats: He has not officially been tested with any cats while in rescue.
Housetrained: Just about. He has made great progress and does well with a routine!
Crate trained: Mmm-hmm.
