Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Abby! Abby! Abby!
Abby and her brother Bruce came into the rescue because their human family were a little over their heads. Their human family already had 3 adult dogs (including the momma of Abby and Bruce).
Momma Cara was not yet spayed when she escaped the fenced in yard. The family found homes for 3 of the 5 of the litter. Abby and Bruce were last ones left. So, in a house with 5 dogs, 3 children (1 newborn) and full time jobs for both parents...you can imagine how hard it was for the family to keep up with all the dogs and house needs. So, they reached out for help. And A.M.O.R. rescue came to the rescue.
We were happy to pick up the pups and the momma and immediately get them spayed and neutered. Momma was returned to the family. And Abby and Bruce stayed in the rescue.
Abby is a sweet, gentle, and loving pup. Her bark may come off as tough and scary but give her a scratch behind the ears and she melts in your hands like butter! She really wants and enjoys being cuddled and petted and loved on. Abby does bark when she hears noises that she does not recognize at the privacy fence. A little training and redirection of this habit will be required from her new family. Abby enjoys fetching all of the tennis balls that are placed in the kiddie pool. She likes to bring each out, one by one. She won't bring it to you....that part she hasn't learned as of yet...lol.
Abby was kept mostly outside originally. But, now, she has taken quite well to being in kennel for naps and overnight sleeping. She does enjoy being inside with her humans. And this has also led to her learning her potty training very quickly. Now she runs to the backyard door and whines for it to be opened so that she can potty outside. She is a VERY SMART girl!!! But, considering her age, potty training will be an ongoing task for her new family as well.
Abby is spayed, has all 4 parvo shots, bordatella shot and rabies shot. She has also been tested and treated (if necessary) and retested for giardia and coccidia. She is chipped, dewormed several times and is on Iverhart heartworm preventative and Simparica for fleas and ticks.
Abby is ready to bring H-U-G-E cuddles into your life!
All animals receive a health certificate (stating that a licensed veterinarian saw the pet and deemed it healthy for travel, but is not a promise of perfect health).
Please email for an A.M.O.R. application in order to be considered.
