My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ruffles is located in TN but can be adopted out of state for the right fit.

Ruffles is estimated to be 8-11 months old. He was confiscated due to a stabbing, but he has fully recovered from his surgery. There is no long-term impact to his health. He is full of life and 100% puppy. He is simply very happy to be alive.

Ruffles is crate trained, leash trained, potty trained and loves to go for walks. He loves car rides, but he will try to get in your lap. He is learning to play with toys, which is cute and funny! He loves his peanut butter kongs and lick mats. He is very much food motivated! Teaching him sit was a breeze! He is still learning about water (baby pools, creeks and splash pads) but so far, he has limited interest. Time may help, foster mom will continue to put the options out there for him to try, if he wants.

Foster mom will continue to work on manners/commands. Ruffles does jump when he is excited, so we are working on not jumping. We would suggest he be in a home with children over the age of 10yrs due to his activity and jumping. He is part rabbit! He hops when he is excited. He will keep you laughing at all times. Sometimes he runs so fast he will take a few rolls in the grass as his body can't seem to keep up with his legs.

Ruffles has not been tested off leash with dogs. We have been walking with his foster brother and he is doing very well; he continues to play bow with a wagging tail. Foster mom always takes introductions slow as it paves the way of dogs going forward. We will continue to dog test but there are high hopes being he is so young and the behavior he has shown to date is very positive. Stay tuned! He would also excel at being the only dog. He is a velcro boy and loves to follow his human but will wonder to investigate if he hears a noise.

His ideal family would be someone who works from home, fenced yard (6ft) and will include him in family activities. He is a very active boy and will need a family that will stimulate him mentally and physically. He loves to be involved. This is his second chance at life, so he deserves the best, just as every dog.

All of our dogs at Battle for the Bully "Changing the Perception" are up to date on vaccinations, prevention, altered and microchipped
