My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, my name is Angel. I’m a 6-year-old Pit bull with a stunning blue coat and a heart full of love. Tipping the scales at 75lbs, I’m the perfect size for big hugs and long walks.

I’m up to date on all my shots, spayed, and I’ve mastered the art of being crate, house, and leash trained. I have an affinity for all people, greeting everyone with boundless affection and a wagging tail. I prefer to be your one and only pet and do not do well with other dogs or cats. However, my love for you will fill the house with warmth.

My past was rough, but it’s taught me to cherish every moment. I am very appreciative of my foster home and have flourished with consistent food, water, and care. I enjoy going on walks with people. Whether we’re exploring the outdoors or snuggling on the couch, I’m happiest by your side. Instead of toys, I’d love for us to invest in cozy blankets and delicious treats, creating a haven of comfort and joy.

I’m currently fostered in Sanford, NC, but can be transported to my “best fit” family. You must be 21 or older to apply. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will bring light into your life, I’m right here waiting. Let’s start our new chapter together.

Go meet their pets

Our adoptable dogs are all in various foster homes and can be met by contacting rescue. Rescue will then provide foster home's contact information. Meet and greets will be arranged between foster and potential adopters. We also have adoption events at Petsmart on various dates which can be checked on our Facebook page, Operation Save a Shelter Dog.

More about this rescue

Our Mission

Operation Save A Shelter Dog is a foster based, IRS-recognized 501c(3) rescue whose mission is to work with shelters on the East Coast by saving dogs at high risk of euthanasia or that have little hope of adoption in their current condition. Not only is it our goal to find furever homes for our dogs, but also to educate the public on the importance of spaying, neutering, vaccinating and providing preventative care for their pets.
