My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Annie is a beautiful 4 year old Border Collie mix! She is a petite little thing weighing in at just about 35 lbs!  She came to the rescue just under a year ago, shut down and fearful of everything, especially humans.  She was also heartworm positive and has since been treated without any complications!

It definitely took some time and a lot of patience for her to trust her foster parents.  She spent most of her day at the very back of her crate observing them and the other dogs in the home.  Eventually, she decided it was safe to come out and join in the fun and she has never looked back.  She loves her yard and running with the other dogs.  That is where you see her personality shine!

Annie has worked hard at learning how to be a dog.  She is constantly watching and copying the other dogs' actions. She has become totally comfortable with her foster family and loves snuggling on the couch! She is still very fearful of strangers coming to the home and will hide behind the couch until they leave.  She is also terrified of a leash and will totally freeze and shut down when it’s on, even if it’s just hanging. Due to her fearfulness, she is considered a flight risk and will need a securely fenced yard (no invisible fences)

Annie has the sweetest, most loving personality and once she trusts you, she wants all the love and attention you can give her.  She loves other dogs and although curious, she doesn’t bother the cat. She also shares the yard with chickens and has no interest.  She loves to be brushed which is a good thing since she has a long coat.  She has been totally housebroken since we got her and is now crate trained.  Please expect accidents as she adjusts to her new family and routine.  She has been around young kids but is fearful and hides from them.  We ask that her new home has older kids or preferably an all-adult home.

If you have a little time and patience to gain this sweet girl's trust please consider Annie. She will reward you with a lifetime of love and companionship.

Annie is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated.  Her adoption fee is $400
