My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bullet and his brother, Rufus, came into the rescue a few weeks ago. They were saved by a lady who said that they were not being cared for properly so she took them in. She stated that they had worms and were underweight. At that time, they were about 6 weeks but she did not feel like they would survive. She nursed them back to health and asked if we could help find them a loving home where they would always be cared for properly.
They are very nice puppies who are really friendly and playful. Since they will be larger dogs, they will need regular exercise and/or a fenced yard. They have gotten a great start on their socialization but it is always important to continue exposing them to new situations, people and places to help them become the best dogs they can be and feel comfortable in any environment.. They do great with dogs of all sizes and with children. They should also do fine with cats since they are still puppies and early exposure should ensure positive cat interactions. Since they are puppies, they will need training so please be prepared to provide that for them. They do not know anything about a leash so if you will be leash walking, you will need to train them to one. They have had some exposure to the crate but will need continued training, as well as training to become fully housebroken. They will benefit from obedience training, whether that be formal training at a puppy class or you provide it yourself. Training helps them to become good canine citizens. They are basically blank slates right now so you can pretty much teach them to adapt to your home environment.
The boys saw the vet on 7/19/22 and were found to have some minor skin issues, most likely from fleas. They have started on an antibiotic to treat and have received Symparica Trio for their monthly flea control and heartworm prevention. They are still too young for a heartworm test but were found to have hookworms on their fecal check so we have also dewormed them with Drontal. Bullet weighed 26.3 pounds as of 7/19/22 and is approx 12-13 weeks old.
If interested in giving Bullet his forever home, please submit your interest and your adoption application via email or text ONLY to 352-215-3260 (phone calls will not be answered or returned from this number). Bullet's adoption fee will be $175 to help cover the cost of his vetting and daily care while with us.
