Meet Rue!

Rue is outdoor adventurer and explorer! He loves running through the woods, following the trails, and splashing in the water and rolling around in the mud. Rue would receive top marks in speed, agility, and jumping competitions as well. Tennis balls are also his favorite! When Rue winds down for the day, he becomes the all time best cuddle buddy! He loves to be pet all the time, especially behind his ears, which is awesome because he has the softest fur. He also radiates the most warmth so it's equally enjoyable for his person. Rue is a sensitive soul and has been the "beta" most of his life, and is looking for someone to love him. Rue will return this love in multitudes!

Based on Rue's time in foster care, we have learned that he does well with other medium/large dogs. Is house, kennel, and leash trained! Rue is working on controlling his excitement when he sees other dogs on leash.

The process is quite simple! Please stop by and see for yourself. All animals are spayed/neutered, dewormed, vaccinated, and microchipped prior to going home.

Go meet their pets

Meet our pets at the shelter Tuesday through Friday from 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm, no appointment necessary!

More about this shelter

We are a non-profit open intake shelter that serves all of East Baton Rouge parish. We strive to improve the lives of abandoned, unwanted and abused animals in our parish. We house approximately 400 animals at any given time. We take in 20-30 new animals a day. We are always in need of fosters both short and long term, donations, and volunteers.
