My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Margot
Nicknames: Margot GOGO. Batgirl. Muscle-Mama.
Breed: Pitbull
Weight: ~55 pounds. Short and muscular; small enough where she needs help getting in and out of higher vehicles.
Sex: Female
Age: ~2.5 years
Before OMD: Found as a stray and brought to the city shelter. We happily took her into rescue when a foster family opened up their home to her.
Energy level: Medium-high.
Indoor personality: Sweet and snuggly. She’ll lure you in with her innocent eyes when she gazes up to you. She’ll snuggle right up to you and demand belly rubs. This little girl is a big hugger and has attempted make-out sessions a time or two.
Outdoor personality: Strong, independent, and often overstimulated. Has no time for that human interaction nonsense.
What makes us laugh: How she snorts when she finds a really good scent on a walk. When she prances around before you set her food bowl down. When she high-fives you for treats.
What she loves: Food. Treats. Snacks. Any form of attention. The great outdoors.
If she could talk: She would say Bonjour and Oui oui. We’ve been told she is a nice French lady. Saying her name with a French accent is always appreciated. 😉
Greeting style: Exuberant. Some would say a bit much. She’s working on more boundaries and less of a linebacker coming in for a tackle approach.
Spooked by: Loud noises.
Co-Pilot Potential: Through the roof. She's content to watch the world go by quietly and lays down when she's ready for a break.
Enjoys: Tug-of-War. She’s a cheater though. She likes to move her mouth where your fingers are. You know what we’re talking about.
Confession: She’s a hoarder. She’s been known to hide all her toys in her crate so foster mom thinks they’ve all vanished and purchases more for her collection.
Known enemy: The recliner. That contraption cannot be trusted.
What she knows: Sit. Paw. Go outside. Stay. Leave it. Making progress with “off”.
Leash manners: We’re going to be very upfront. She needs someone to put in the work with her on this one. She’s a little powerhouse and can get overstimulated on leash.
Kids: 12+ only; little ones are way too stimulating. Dog-savvy, sturdy kiddos only please as she is a bull in a china shop and he has not been exposed to many kiddos while in rescue.
Dogs: It’s complicated. She lives with a male pittie in her current foster home, but she can be a rough players and a bossy B. She would do best with a tolerant, submissive, large dog. Hard pass on small dogs or other bossy B females.
Cats: Nope.
Crate-trained: Yes and does fine after some initial grumblings.
House-trained: Sure is!

Margot is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She's available for adoption to residents of CT and surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application from omdrescue.org.
