My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Apprehension : anxiety or fear that something bad or unpleasant will happen

Trapper is FILLED with apprehension and it’s written all over his face. His soulful eyes belie his fear of the unknown. Coupled with his body language making it clear he would rather retreat into himself and be invisible, it’s a pitiful sight to behold.
A dog that has been neglected, left to fend for himself, forced to find shelter and provisions to survive often has this intense emotional trauma from that experience. We happen to specialize in dogs like this...

When a dog’s spirit has been broken to this magnitude, it’s gut-wrenching to witness. There’s several extremely important aspects of healing them through this…
▪️Time
▪️Patience
▪️Kindness
▪️Understanding
▪️Consistency
▪️An abundance of love.

With these, they do heal. They survive the unimaginable and most times, they thrive and flourish to the point that it’s difficult to remember how bad they once were.

Trapper has had several people offering these love languages to him the past couple of days. As you can see in the pictures, he’s making progress already and that’s with him living in boarding! What Trapper needs more than anything is a foster or foster to adopt family to see his need and provide for him.

His eyes PLEA to release the apprehension that clouds his world. He only needs to be shown that he can. If you’re interested in helping with Trapper, please apply @maxxandme.org
Please follow up application with email to maxxandmerescue@gmail.com to verify receipt.

{Trapper needs a fenced yard, another kind dog to show him the ropes, no kids / chaos}
