My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Chai, like a Chai Latte because of my beautiful coloring and cinnamon ear coloring that speckle in the sun. I have a million nicknames, but my favorite is Chi-Chi. My mom says I’m an angel and she wishes she could keep me, but can’t provide the quality of life I really deserve.

I am extremely calm and well behaved for my age, lack of training and exercise. I can be picky about my doggy friends. With careful introductions, dogs my size and preferable males are fine, but I don’t like dominant females. Small dogs, cats, and other small animals instantly trigger my prey drive, so unless you want me to eat them for dinner, it’s best to keep me away from them.

I LOVE snow and ice treats or playing in the water in summer. Sometimes I like to play with sticks, tennis balls, and stuffed toys. I enjoy doing the zoomies in my big, fenced yard but mostly I just like to relax and spend time around or cuddling with my hoomans. I am wary of strangers, especially men (since I was abused as a puppy) but with time and patience I can be friends with almost anyone! I need reassurance and love being told that I’m a good girl. Once I warm up to you, I love snuggles and kisses.

I know lots of tricks! Many verbal commands and a few hand signals as well. Sometimes I’m stubborn and act like I can’t hear woo…hum, I hear this trait is a northern breed thing, whatever that is! A good thing is if you have treats, I’ll do anything! I LOVE food. I do need some work my leash skills, but as you can see I’m a good girl. My dream home is with a family that will help me feel confident and loved. In return I’ll let you rub my belly and smother you with kisses.
