My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Brody is looking for his fur-ever family. He is a very loving & playful pup who would adjust effortlessly to any home environment. He is an amazing companion to both other animals and humans alike! He loves to cuddle on the couch with his humans and wiggles his tail the minute you lock eyes with him or call him by his name. He is also a high-energy goofball that will constantly have you laughing. He is not fully house trained, but understands the concept that potty outside will get him treats. He just needs someone to work with him more closely. He walks great on a leash beside our other dog on walks and looks forward to playing each morning after a long night's sleep. Brody has an unbelievable amount of love & loyalty that he's ready to pour into his new home.

He gets along terrifically with my 8-month-old son and his 2-year-old pitbull foster sister in his foster home! He loves to join in on love, whether it's being given to the baby or the other dog, you can bet Brody is squeezing himself in for some pets and kisses! He is just as active as he is lazy, and I believe he'd be a great companion for almost any family. He truly is a family dog, he is excited to greet the baby and foster sibling in the morning after sleeping in his own bedroom all night.

He is not fully crate trained, but is getting the hang of outdoor potty training. Treats for reinforcement of appropriate behavior work great for him. He loves chewing marrow bones, playing with small dog toys like donuts or dinosaurs, or really big fluffy dog toys. He doesn't really enjoy tug-o-war, and he is not an aggressive dog whatsoever during play. He may rarely bark but he doesn't growl, and he's pretty submissive if his foster sibling tries to take a toy from him to play with. I would like to mention that he LOVES to cuddle! With humans and animals alike. He is such a sweet boy who is so ready to give so much love to a furever family.

This pup is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs must be treated periodically for parasites throughout their lives.

Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pup’s with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pups at the event!

The adoption fee is $600 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee.

More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds.

If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05.

TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back.

After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.
