My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Titus - small but mighty! This little dude is a local dog, found as a stray and never claimed.  He was terrified at the overcrowded shelter and when we were asked to help, of course, we said yes!  Titus is a Chorkie - Chihuahua/Yorkie mix.  He is about 3 - 4 years old and weighs just under 9 pounds.  He is all legs!  Titus had some skin issues when he arrived at the shelter, which with time and good food, have been resolved.

Titus has fit in nicely in his foster home.  He gets along with other small dogs and will cuddle with them all day long if he could.  He stays in his foster mom's office and is content there - watching her and waiting for his turn on her lap!  He was a bit scared when he initially arrived into rescue but once given a little time and gentle love, he has blossomed.  He enjoys attention and love now!  He is a sensitive little soul and wants to be held and cuddled when something upsets him.   Titus is crate trained for the most part (some initial whining occurs) and on occasion, will piddle in there. He is often gated into a room if his foster mom is going to be gone for a long time.  He is working on his housetraining and needs to be encouraged to go outside.  Belly bands are also used.   He does walk and potty on a leash and he enjoys walks!  His foster mom will get him outdoors with the lure of a leash.  He has a fully fenced yard in his foster home but it is not required for his new home.  He has had limited exposure to cats but true to his breed, he has  some interest in them.   Titus is not a barker in his foster home unless of course there is something to bark at.  He tends to be aloof with new people and will warm up with some tasty chicken.

Titus has a soft, fine coat that will require some grooming.  It can get long and will easily matt if not attended to.  We don't think he has had a lot of exposure to grooming so we go slow with him.  He loves to be brushed though!  It feels good to him!

Titus is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  His adoption fee is $400
