Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This sweet girl is approx 3 years and 32 lbs , she is a bit timid when meeting new people and will need an experienced adopter that has the patience to work with her and allow her time to feel comfortable.
She was found on the streets of TX as a stray and taken to the shelter where she was put on the euthanasia list because of how timid she was. Luckily for her a shelter volunteer saw her potential and Shaggy Dog took her into the rescue. She is actually a wonderful dog! She is a very gentle and sweet girl and once comfortable she is up on the couch next to her human (foster mom) asking for pets. She is a little tentative on a leash and can be nervous out on a walk in the neighborhood but really enjoys and feels safe in her backyard. For this reason we do require a fully fenced and secure yard for her. She gets along very well with her foster doggie siblings and has started to play with toys now that she is feeling comfortable. She is house broken, quiet (barely makes a noise), and just a nice laid back dog.
She tested heartworm positive when we took her in and she was treated according to the American Heartworm Society guidelines and we usually find that the dogs test negative in 4 to 6 months.
We have started her on Heartguard as a monthly preventive and Nexguard as a monthly flea and tick preventative and suggest that the dogs stay on these preventives monthly.
We are not sure of her breed mix but she looks like she may have some corgi in her mix.
She will make a wonderful companion for someone , she just needs some time to adjust and feel safe in a new home.
