My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mason was saved after being dumped at a shelter with two other Dogos - another rescue saved them and left poor Mason behind! How could we say no to his adorable face, of course we had to break him out!

Mason is around a year old and has more energy than he knows what to do with. He is a sweet and loving boy! He is constantly pushing boundaries and needs a home that won't bat an eye while he tests the waters to see what he can and cannot get away with. His new home should have a strong alpha leader that understands a dog like Mason thrives on routine and structure, one that enjoys a dog that loves mental and physical stimulation and that is not afraid of a challenge. Mason will be an incredible dog but it is imperative that training continues and this handsome guy is kept firmly in his place.

Once Mason settles into his routine he is an amazingly sweet, gentle and loving dog. He loves to play and will do anything for a piece of cut up hot dog, those are his favorite! Mason loves to lay on his bed and chew his Benebone in the company of his human and likes to pause his chewing and "check in" or say hi to his person every now and then. It's the cutest!

Mason would like a home with a fenced in yard or a very outdoorsy/active person, no young children as Mason has been known to correct them, and no cats as Mason thinks kitties could be a tasty snack. Breed experience preferred! Also, he really loves playing with the girl dogs so a home with a female playment would be perfect!

Dogos are a wonderful breed but we urge anyone interested to dig in and do a lot of research before
deciding if they are a good fit for your home. They require a lot of attention and training with them
never ends! Boundaries must be enforced and they often need reminders as they push past boundaires
you set! Dogos are loving, kind and gentle but don't mistake that for weakness because they are equally
powerful and intense as well! Everyone in the home must be on board with having a dogo and play a
major role in their daily routines and training. Yes it is work, but the rewards are ten-fold! Lazy homes
don't work for dogos as they need stimulation, exercise, and lots of attention too during their younger
years. Our goal in rescue is to be as transparent as we can about each and every dog plus make sure new
families really understand the needs of a dogo!
