This sweet and gentle 1 yr old girl arrived at a local shelter on 6/19 as a stray. This is the worst time of year for the many unlucky cats/kittens who find themselves in this situation as all shelters are overcrowded and quickly running out of space. We couldn't let this 5 lb kitty sit in a cage any longer. Even in this most stressful situation, she was always eager for attention from anyone who stopped by. She takes a bit to warm up and adjust to new situations. But once she feels safe, she really enjoys human companionship and will flop over at your feet for some TLC. She is OK being picked up and happy happy to be brushed.
She would make the purrfect apartment cat. Laverne gets startled easily by loud noises and sudden movements so not a good choice for a home with young children. She would do fine with another laidback cat but we do not know how she would do with a dog. Posted 7/13/22
