My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cherokee came from an area neighborhood known for loose dogs and way too many pregnant ones. Her Mom was mostly Black Lab, father unknown. We had to trap her to save her life. She is full grown now and is between 40 to 50 lbs. It has been a long road of socialization but Cherokee wants to please and is so anxious to be loved. She now walks on a leash and is now ready for the next stage in her life- a permanent and loving home. We had some 6th graders visit and she loved their attention. She has her wings now and is ready to fly off to a new adventure. Giving her a home will be the most awesome experience. From feral to family friendly....that is a great success story already and you can help write her next chapter.

We have a simple contract ensuring that our rescue will be well taken care of, medically and physically, will never be tied or chained, and that a secure fenced area is provided for outdoor play. We want for each a loving home and to become part of a family. Every animal is up to date on shots and spay/neuter is required.

Go meet their pets

We are open 7 days a week by appointment. Weekends are preferred. Come see our waggin' tails and happy faces on 22 acres with large runs and a 5 acre play area. Email to ask for directions and to make an appt.

More about this shelter

We started rescuing dogs in 2001 and became a non profit animal rescue in 2006 out of the sheer need to save animals from the streets, and pick up the ones dropped at our doorstep. We promote spay/neuter, and last year found forever homes for 129 animals from our location, and adopted over 400 through off site adoption..
