Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Introducing Tyson! He is a 13 year old Papillon/Shetland Sheepdog mix (perhaps with some Chihuahua peppered in there as well, but he's not tellin'!). His pictures are testament to how the camera adds ten pounds - with all that fur, he looks much bigger than he is (Tyson weighs 8lbs and is on his way to a nicely filled out 10lbs). Tyson is a friendly little guy who is simply looking for a home with a soft bed, a warm lap, and a person to repeatedly tell him how gorgeous he is (the sooner, the better, as he is not digging shelter life). Tyson has long, flowing locks and loves to be brushed. He has a gentle, unassuming way about him, but he will eagerly let you know when he wants attention! Tyson's crazy puppy years may be behind him, but he's no slouch! He loves to go for leisurely walks (something new to him that he adores), plus he is quite the gentleman on a leash. Tyson has been used to having almost constant human companionship for his entire life, so he is looking for a home where he will not be left alone without his person for more than a few hours each day. Tyson would probably really enjoy being the only spoiled pupper in the home or could even share his home with another calm, quiet similarly sized dog (he previously lived with a small female dog and they pretty much ignored each other). Tyson has been used to a quiet home for all of his years, so a calm, chill adult home or one with respectful children (10 years of age and older) would be best. For more information about how to give sweet Tyson the retirement home that he desires, please contact Michelle at michelle.p@poainc.org and complete an application ASAP at www.poainc.org.
