Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet marvelous Mongo! This handsome fellow is looking for his forever family, and wants his new people to know these 9 things about him:
1. I am about 4 years old and I am a Neapolitan Mastiff. I am a VERY big boy at 145lbs.
2. When I came from the shelter, I was very shut down, but I am learning to trust again. Nevertheless, I can be nervous when I encounter new situations and people. An experienced home that is willing to work with me on building confidence, and that will give me plenty of time to warm up to strangers and new experiences, would be the best fit for me.
3. Although I do like to play, I honestly prefer a calm and laid-back environment. An adult-only home would be ideal, but I think I could live in a home with children over 12, as long as they weren’t too loud or rambunctious and had some previous experience/training with big dogs.
4. I’m not really bothered by any of the dogs that I’ve met at the Bullpen and I wouldn’t mind it if my new family had a large, laid-back female dog.
5. I haven’t had the opportunity to interact with little dogs or cats since I came to rescue, so I’m not sure how I feel about living in a home with them.
6. The words that best describe me are hunky, sweet, and affectionate.
7. My favorite things to do are eating, relaxing in the yard, and getting attention from people. I do NOT like to go on car rides!
8. I am housebroken and know how to use a dog door. Since I came to the sanctuary, I have been working on my leash skills and also learning basic obedience!
9. I am fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, neutered, and microchipped.
Ready to give Mongo the forever home of his dreams? Fill out our Adoption Application, located at www.bullpenrescue.org under the 'work with us' tab.
We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation.
Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a "perfect placement" so we know that they will not be failed again.
