Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Romeo! This handsome hunk is looking for his forever family, and wants his new people to know these 10 things about him:
1. I am a Cane Corso and I am about 3 years old.
2. I didn’t have the greatest go of it before I came to The Bullpen. I was part of an animal cruelty seizure and I had to sit at the shelter for almost a year while they prosecuted my former owner. Luckily for me, as soon as I was released, I got to come to the sanctuary and I’ve been loving life ever since.
3. I am shy with new people and generally try to avoid them. Once I have a proper introduction, however, I am quite a sweetheart!
4. I’m not a fan of other dogs, and therefore I need to be the only pup in my new home.
5. I like to chase the barn cats at the sanctuary, so I don’t think a feline-friendly family is for me.
6. Although I do like to play, I believe I would do best in a calm and laid-back environment. An adults-only home would be ideal, but I think I could also live with kids over 12, as long as they weren’t too loud or rambunctious and had some previous experience/training with big dogs.
7. The words that best describe me are sweet, shy, and playful.
8. My favorite things to do are playing with toys, sunbathing in the yard, and taking naps on my bed.
9. I am housebroken and I know basic obedience. I’m good in the crate and improving daily on the leash.
10. I am fully vaccinated, neutered, heartworm negative and microchipped. My hips aren’t the greatest, but I get around just fine!
Ready to give Romeo the forever home of his dreams? Fill out our Adoption Application, located at www.bullpenrescue.org under the 'work with us' tab.
We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation.
Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a "perfect placement" so we know that they will not be failed again.
