Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We are so glad to be able to finally introduce Ian!! This sweet and handsome fella came to us from a shelter in Utah. Shortly after arriving into WBCR, Ian had a run-in with disaster. How it happened exactly, we'll never know, but he was rushed to the vet right away. It was there that his injuries were determined to be a result of coyotes - wounds to his face and a punctured trachea (windpipe). It was touch and go for a few days, and the vet was not super optimistic...but Ian's trachea healed! It's been nearly a month now and we are thrilled to say that Ian has fully recovered…….and is showing his colors!
Happy, energetic, bright and loving, this fabulous classically marked 3-4 year old BC has got many qualities typical of the breed. He's somewhat of a sensitive boy and a little reserved with strangers – but once he's your pal, look out! Ian is quite the deliverer of full face kisses to those he knows and loves. And if you have a functioning arm, well, Ian is your friend for life. Yes, it's clear we've a bit of a fetchaholic on our hands here. Be it ball, stick, or toy, Ian is a master fetcher and overflows with joy if he thinks the fetching game is on!
While he clearly prefers the company of humans, Ian gets along with other dogs, too. He can be a little picky - he prefers females, or males that won't boss him - but rarely plays even with his doggy friends, although he cannot resist herding other fetching dogs on occasion. Ian really prefers to play with toys or join his people on outdoor adventures. He's a moderately energetic boy who is not above a little mischief!
This adorable boy with the twinkle in his eye and goofy grin has also got some skills. He's housetrained, cratetrained, and rides well in the car. He lives peaceably with cats in his foster home. He is no stranger to the basics but certainly needs a little brush up in the manners department. Training will also help build his confidence, which Ian could use a little more of. And remember that part about the mischief? Yeah, Ian will definitely need someone who will be able to set boundaries for him, as he can be a bit of a lively fella at times!
All in all, Ian is a terribly sweet dog who is suitable to a lot of different situations. He will do best in an active home who can appreciate his zest for life, and where he will get lots of love, attention, and exercise. Ian is always up for anything his family is, and is going to make some lucky adopter a GREAT friend. If you love a typical fetching fiend BC - Ian can't wait to meet you!
Ian is fully vetted and living in a loving foster home near Castle Rock, CO.
