Jolene came into our rescue with two other dogs, Jimmy and Janie. Janie has since been adopted. When Jolene arrived, she was very pregnant and gave birth to eight healthy pups. She was also heartworm positive and has already started treatment, with her last injection scheduled for August 19th. The rescue will finish that care as scheduled at our cost, and her follow up heartworm test 6 months post treatment. Adopters will have to keep her on heartworm prevention. Jolene is definitely a herding breed, super intelligent, playful, and sweet. She is still a little shy with strangers but warms up quickly. She is joyful and enjoys wrestling with the other dogs here and showing off how fast she is. We would prefer that Jimmy and Jolene are adopted together, as they are bonded and rely on one another for boosts of confidence. Jolene was previously adopted into an amazing home, who said she was a perfectly behaved angel - but she was very sad without Jimmy.
