My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I was an owner surrender to a high-kill shelter and rescued by a purebred all-breed rescue. Because bearcoat shar pei aren't very common most folks didn't know what I was and I waited for MONTHS at this rescue with nobody asking to adopt me! The rescue got worried I would never find a home and asked SPS to take me. So here I am at SPS trying again to find that perfect forever home. While I waited for a home with the other rescue I was sent to jail...not because I was naughty, but to learn some obedience and socialization. According to the first rescue, I had no manners...well...I'll admit I did have a bit to learn, but those days are behind me now and I'm out of prison and in a foster home. I know all my basic obedience commands and am getting along very well with the 5 resident dogs in my foster home. Cats are another story though...there are several of them here and boy are they fun to chase! I love being with my people and don't like to be left alone. I do not like to be crated, but my cell dog trainer says I am not destructive. I am crated here when I am not supervised (because of the cats - darn!) and I bark like crazy, but eventually settle down. I am housebroken and sweet. I am very slobbery, but hey...nobody's perfect! I'm awfully close to perfect though so if you'd love a sweet, slobbery boy like me to live with you please fill out an application and ask for me...Yogi!
