My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Zeke! Zeke was so well loved at the shelter that he lasted six weeks before he was in danger of losing his life. Luckily we stepped in and we definitely lucked out getting this guy. Zeke is a pretty chilled dude. He is a thick, short boy with big, soulful eyes that are hard to say no to. Zeke loves to be close: seeking attention and sitting on your feet. He enjoys being anywhere you are. Zeke gets on with other dogs but hadn't been well socialized before and still needs work on his manners: slow introductions are best, according to our trainer. He is neutered, up to-date on vaccines and microchipped. Zeke would make someone a great pet and companion! Could that be you?

Additional adoption info

We believe our dogs deserve the best homes, so all prospective adopters must have good references and agree to a home visit. All our dogs are vaccinated, microchipped and spayed or neutered. An adoption fee is charged to help defray veterinarian and other expenses. We have promised our babies that they will never have to worry again, so adopters will sign a contract agreeing to take good care of the animal, and if an adoption doesn't work out for any reason, the animal MUST be returned to Barkie's Legacy.

More about this rescue

We've rescued stray dogs or those in high-kill shelters whose time is up and adopt them out to loving homes. We are amazed at the amount of dogs that are unwanted, unloved or abused, so we're trying to make a difference one dog at a time!
