Penelope is a beautiful 6month old , 55lb, German Shepherd who is one of three puppies who was purchased from a breeder and then owner surrendered to us when the family realized they couldn’t care for them. Thankfully, this family realized the three puppies needed individual attention, socialization and families that could give each the time, love and attention they need to develop into healthy, balanced dogs and reached out to us. Otherwise, it could have become a case of littermate syndrome, where littermates can create an unhealthy emotional dependence among siblings. Penelope is playful and affectionate. This is the first time she has been on her own without her litter mates , and she is a bit shy at first then warms up with puppy kisses and wiggles. This is changing as she builds confidence on her own without looking to her sister.
