Hi!! I’m AJ… a 3-year-old, 50-pound American Staffie / American Bulldog mix and have a sad story to share. I landed at the shelter after having lived in a home w/ 6 other dogs. We didn’t get along so well. There was horrible fighting and, sadly, one of us was hurt so badly he had to be put to sleep.

Since being at the shelter I’ve made friends w/ volunteers and staff who’ve helped me to feel safe and loved. Each day I feel a bit surer of myself. I can be playful and silly. I will lean into you and give you wet kisses. Once I get to know you, I will crawl into your lap for love. My tail is still tucked under some of the time, but I am learning that not all people are bad and my tail lifts and starts to wag. Oh, what a feeling!

I’m looking for a kind and patient adopter who will love me and provide guidance as I continue to gain confidence, learn, and blossom. Since my past was so traumatic it’s best if I’m in an adult only home.

**Foster to Adopt is an option** I’m hoping that someone takes me home soon. Can’t wait to know true love! A nice, fluffy, warm bed would be a bonus --- huge smile! Never had one before.
